At Beat Credibility we are conscious of Hip-Hop’s roots. Further, we understand Hip-Hop’s essence in the genres of Jazz, Rock & Roll, Funk, Soul, Gospel, Ethnic Music(s), Pop, and of course Classical. And indeed, we are certainly aware of DJ’ing’s place in blending and integrating all these genres and converting them into Hip-Hop form. Most importantly however, we know exactly how to utilize the aforementioned in attaining specific types of Hip-Hop sounds (i.e. Real Hip-Hop, Break-Beats, West Coast, Dirty South, R&B, Reggaeton, Commercial, etc…).
Nevertheless, Beat Credibility’s main, and most prized, asset is a thorough comprehension of the Hip-Hop culture from its origins in the parks of the South Bronx (c. 1973), through the golden era of the 80’s and 90’s, to its current place as the underlying sound of all things considered popular culture. Needless to say, this insight and understanding privileges Beat Credibility in being able to characterize and distinguish precisely what Hip-Hop is/was according to specific times, regions, and popular recollection, and therefore cater it to the needs of clients.
Beat Credibility’s mission is to unite the rebelliousness of Jazz with the purpose of Rock & Roll, the soul of Funk, the charm of Pop, the diversity of Ethnic Music(s), the consciousness of Gospel, and the heritage and legacy of Classical.
